Standard Paint Coverage

Most wall paint covers approximately:
10–12 m² per liter per coat

This varies by:

  • surface texture
  • paint brand and finish
  • roller or spray method

Example

Room: 4m × 3m, with 2.5m wall height
Wall surface: 4×2.5 × 2 (long walls) + 3×2.5 × 2 (short walls)
= 20 + 15
= 35 m² approx.

If you apply 2 coats:
35 m² × 2 = 70 m² total coverage needed

At ~10 m² per liter:
70 ÷ 10 = 7 liters of paint

When to Add Extra

  • Rough or textured walls require more paint
  • Very dark-to-light color changes need a primer or 3rd coat
  • Bathrooms and high-humidity zones benefit from mold-resistant finish
