Standard Sheet Sizes

Common drywall sizes:

  • 1200 × 2400 mm
  • 1200 × 3000 mm
  • 1200 × 3600 mm

Area coverage per sheet:

  • 2.88 m² (standard 1200 × 2400)
  • 3.60 m² (1200 × 3000)
  • 4.32 m² (1200 × 3600)

Example

Room perimeter area: 45 m²
Standard sheet coverage: 2.88 m²

45 ÷ 2.88 ≈ 15.6 → 16 sheets

Add 10% waste:
16 × 1.10 ≈ 18 sheets

When to Add Waste

  • Multiple cuts needed for windows and doors
  • Ceiling mounts where board trimming is required
  • Non-square rooms

Screw Estimate (Approx.)

A common drywall estimate:

  • 50–60 screws per 1200 × 2400mm sheet
  • Ceilings require more due to gravity pull

Moisture-Resistant Use

Use green or blue boards for:

  • Bathrooms
  • Kitchens
  • Laundry rooms
  • Basements

Standard boards are fine for living and bedroom spaces.
